Greetings. Today marks 25 years since the registration of the very
first DOT-COM (.COM) domain, certainly a landmark of sorts in the
history of the Internet. It's hard to believe that a quarter century
has passed since then.
As you can see from this list of the 100 oldest still-existing
registered .COM domains, the initial pace of registrations was fairly
sluggish! - http://bit.ly/clyOAj (DNS Knowledge)
Various of these domains have changed hands over the years, but an
example of one that has maintained the same owner registration since
its registration on 27-Oct-1986 is #39 on the "oldest 100" list --
definitely my personal favorite.
