It's amusing (in a sick way, of course) how Big Telecom proponents
keep claiming that U.S. consumers have great broadband, just like
the enemies of health care reform (and I don't consider the recently
passed health care legislation to be much more than a massive
giveaway to insurance companies and pharma) keep repeating the lie
that the U.S. has the best health care system.
The key to making Big Lies like those work is the fact that so many
people in the U.S. really don't have accurate information about what
really goes on in the rest of world, beyond the right-wing propaganda
machine of FOX News and dangerous clowns like Bill O'Reilly and
Glenn ("Net Neutrality is all about censoring ME!") Beck.
Yeah, I'm in a really *fine* mood this morning ...
