https://www.google.com -> https://encrypted.google.com In response to schools and others who were complaining that they couldn't watch/guard/monitor/filter users' Internet activities when Google's https:/SSL search was used, Google has moved SSL search to: https://encrypted.google.com This allows site admins to block encrypted search without blocking secure access to other Google apps (e.g. Google Apps for Education). At the current time, https://www.google.com also still appears to be functioning in SSL mode.
