AT&T "confident" merger with T-Mobile will be approved 

In AT&T's bid for T-Mobile, Obama administration is caught in the middle

    "Several state governors, as well as Web giants including Facebook and
     Microsoft, have expressed support for the deal. An AT&T spokesman said
     the company has little doubt of the outcome.  "The FCC and DOJ
     processes are fact-based, and we are confident that after a thorough
     review they will recognize the merger's significant benefits," said
     AT&T spokesman Michael Balmoris."

And of course, if approval ever seems in doubt, AT&T can just write a
few more dandy astroturfing checks.  I wonder if they have a separate
account for that, or just work from "petty" cash?
