Anonymous Retaliates Against MegaUpload Takedown, Knocks MPAA, RIAA Sites Offline [plus DOJ]

"In a hastily assembled retaliation against the federal shutdown of
MegaUpload.com, hacktivist group Anonymous has allegedly taken down a
number of websites--including those of the U.S. Department of Justice,
the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), and the Recording
   Industry Association of America (RIAA)."

I'm told that whitehouse.gov and others may also be under attack. The tactic
appears to be a relatively new approach involving getting unwitting users
to click links that cause their own systems to run the DDoS attacks themselves.

<understatement>One might assert that these attacks may not be the wisest approach to
help build anti-SOPA, anti-PIPA sentiments in Congress, or elsewhere.</understatement>
