New York Times Web Site Returns After Hours Offline

   "The Web site of The New York Times was offline for about two hours on
    Wednesday in what company officials say was a failure during regular
    maintenance of NYTimes.com, and not the result of a cyberattack."

DNSSEC administration likely cause of .gov outage

    A GSA official said on background the website outage was triggered
    by a now-resolved DNSSEC issue and the agency is "still working on
    analyzing the whole thing." The outage, he added, did not effect [sic]
    users on secure government networks.
