Please find below the latest updates concerning the 11th World Telecommunication/ICT Indicators Symposium (WTIS) which will take place from 4-6 December 2013, in Mexico City, Mexico. The WTIS is organized by the Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT) of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and hosted by the Government of Mexico.   • Registration is open and delegates are invited to register at: http://www.itu.int/en/ITU-D/Statistics/Pages/events/wtis2013/registration.aspx
  • A draft agenda has now been uploaded to the meeting website at: http://www.itu.int/en/ITU-D/Statistics/Pages/events/wtis2013/agenda.aspx
  • High-level segment: the first day of WTIS will feature a set of international high-level panel debates on the topics of international development goals (including the MDGs and post 2015 agenda), ICT for development and the role of monitoring, as well as national coordination of statistics. Panelists will include ICT Ministers, heads of national telecom/ICT regulatory authorities and national statistical offices, heads of International Organizations, CEOs of private sector companies and lead academicians.
  • Call for papers: participants are encouraged to submit papers (relevant to topics under discussion), by e-mail to wtis@itu.int. Papers will be shared with all participants and uploaded to our website.
  • The Expert Group on Telecommunication/ICT Indicators (EGTI) will meet on 2-3 December, also in Mexico City. To register for the online discussion forum, go to http://www.itu.int/ITU-D/ict/ExpertGroup/default_group.asp
