Twitter unilaterally stops sending out activity notification emails regardless of your settings - - - Twitter claims to be doing us a favor, apparently turns off all activity notification emails regardless of your original settings. Found a note from Twitter buried in my inbox this morning. In essence, it said "We're turning off all your activity emails, 'cause we just *know* you want less email! Want them back? You'll have to login and disable the *smart setting*. NO Twitter, I don't want you unilaterally telling me I don't have the settings I want. I don't follow my Twitter stream 24/7, and I depend on those notifications to know what's going on with replies and other key account activity. If I had wanted to stop receiving those, I would have turned them off myself. If your goal here is to drastically cut down on your outgoing email volume, this isn't the user friendly way to do it. For example, you could *ask* before just turning all the activity notification email off.
