The Kodak Fiend" - Fears of public photography in 1890

http://j.mp/FOb5K5 (Newspaper clipping on Google+)

"He is merciless and omnipresent and has as little conscience and
respect for proprieties as the veriest hoodlum."

               -- Hawaiian Gazette, December 9, 1890

File this one as "when it comes to fears, nothing new under the sun."

Somehow we survived the rise of the "Kodak fiend." We'll survive
Internet photography as well. Too bad Kodak hasn't been as lucky.
