U-verse back up after outage hit thousands

   "Service had been restored by midday Thursday for tens of thousands of
    AT&T's U-verse TV, Internet and phone customers after an outage that
    lasted several days."

This is the same AT&T begging the FCC to allow it to abandon
traditional POTS phone service and provide *all* phone service via
U-verse, et al.  This was just a software upgrade problem.  Imagine
what could happen during a true emergency!
